This notice explains how SpecMeasure collects and uses personal information when you use the public calculator, create an account, save projects or use the optional CRM. SpecMeasure is the controller of account and platform-administration information. Contact us at support@specmeasure.co.uk.
Information we collect
The public calculator can be used without an account. When you register, we may collect your name, email address, business name, business address, postcode and phone number. We also store account status, access permissions, sign-in and activity dates, projects, calculations, system build-ups, reports and support correspondence.
If you use the CRM, your workspace may contain customer and contact names, business contact details, opportunities, activities, follow-up dates, project links and notes. Please do not enter special-category information or information that is not needed for the job.
Why we use information
We use account and project information to create and secure your workspace, provide requested calculations and reports, save your records, manage CRM permissions, respond to support requests, maintain platform security and improve reliability. Our lawful bases will normally be performance of our agreement with you, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving SpecMeasure. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it at any time.
Your CRM responsibilities
When a trader or business enters its own customer information, that account holder is normally responsible for deciding why and how that information is used. You must have a lawful basis, provide any privacy information required to your contacts, keep records accurate and respect their rights. SpecMeasure processes that workspace information only to provide and secure the service, subject to any separate business data-processing terms.
Sharing and international processing
We do not sell personal information. We may use carefully selected hosting, database, identity, email, security and support providers acting on our instructions. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a properly managed business reorganisation. If a provider processes information outside the UK, we will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards where required.
Retention and security
We retain account and workspace information while the account is active and afterwards only for as long as reasonably required for service restoration, security, dispute handling, legal obligations or legitimate business records. Retention periods are reviewed by reference to the type of record, why it is needed and legal requirements. We use access controls and account separation designed to protect private workspaces, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, or object to its use. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To exercise a right, email support@specmeasure.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity and some rights are subject to legal exceptions.
Your right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
Complaints and changes
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We may update this notice as the platform, suppliers or law change and will publish the revised date here.
